Project summary: The project is implemented in 27 ethnically mixed schools and 9 municipalities (Bitola, Butel, Strumica, Tetovo, Kumanovo, Radovis, Struga, Gostivar and Dolneni). The aim of the project is to improve interethnic integration in education through implementation of curricular and extracurricular activities with students from different ethnic backgrounds, and thus, contribute to strengthening multi-ethnic cooperation and tolerance in the municipalities. BDE and the municipalities are key partners in the implementation of all project activities.

Expected results:
• Students from different ethnic backgrounds developed skills and increased their ICE competencies through active participation in various activities (joint sections, mixed classes, focus groups, survey) and have opportunity to get to know other students learning in different language of instruction;
• Increased number of friendship among students from different ethnic background both in and out of school;
• Teachers apply ICE in regular classes based on the guidelines received from BDE advisors;
• Teaching and learning practices of Civic Education subject improved.
