An interesting youth action took place in the municipality of Struga recently. The students from the primary schools “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” from the village of Draslajca and “Zini Hani” from the village of Velesta, as well as the students from the high school “Dr. Ibrahim Temo”, gathered together by adhering to the protection protocols and beautified the park. This action is supported by the Municipality of Struga and the USAID Youth Ethnic Integration Project in cooperation with the Youth Educational Forum.

During the action, students from different ethnic communities cleaned the park together, aware of the importance of environmental protection. New urban equipment was installed and the whole space got a better look. With that, the young people also got more places to socialize and enjoy.

The action is a result of their online workshops in the recent months where they identified the challenges and the possible solutions for improvement of the situation in the community. Through online advocacy meetings, they also cooperated with the local authorities to whom they presented their ideas and obtained the necessary support. As a result of that, the students managed to realize their ideas, thus emphasizing the importance of youth activism.
In the upcoming period, several such actions are planned in different municipalities across the country, during which students will implement their initiatives for improvement of the situation and enhancement of the environment.
This activity is part of the Youth Ethnic Integration Project, supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
