On 10 February, 2020, a promotional event was held on the occasion of the renovation of PS “Kole Nedelkovski” from the Municipality of Centar as part of the USAID Youth Ethnic Integration Project. During the event, the Mayor of the Municipality of Centar, Sasa Bogdanovikj, the school principal, Svetlana Maslarevska and the Chief of Party of the USAID Youth Ethnic Integration Project, Nebojsa Mojsoski delivered remarks.
The school renovation activities were implemented with the financial support of the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) – the hallways and staircases in the school building were renovated and the school entrance door was replaced.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Centar, Sasa Bogdanovikj expressed the commitment of the municipality to improve the conditions for stay and learning of the students in the school, as well as to improve the quality of the teaching process. He emphasized that the Municipality of Centar will participate in the reconstruction by adding a new entrance with staircase to the school for vertical communication in the school building, as well as additional classrooms and other premises, while the school will participate with landscaping of the school yard.
The renovation provides better conditions for teaching and work for about 700 students and teachers. In order to get long-term benefits from the renovation, the school’s technical staff was trained to maintain the school facility and deal with crises such as earthquakes, fires or floods, and it was provided with equipment for maintenance of the building and keeping the hygiene in the school.
This activity is part of the Youth Ethnic Integration Project, supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
