Students that are a part of the Access program – Microscholarship for better access to the English language, supported by the US Embassy in Skopje, learned to make electronic posters, developing their digital skills and creativity. Two interactive online workshops were organized and through practical exercises, they got an opportunity to learn how to go from an idea to a final product.

During the first workshop, the students were introduced to the basics of poster-making, why posters are important for sharing a message in the digital world as well as key elements that should be incorporated in an interesting and meaningful e-poster. They also participated in exercises for thinking more broad-mindedly and creatively and exercises for different perception. After a presentation of useful tools and software, the students, split in groups, created more posters with messages from the speakers that attended the online conversations every Thursday.

Motivated and with strengthened knowledge, they actively participated in the second workshop, as well. But this time, they made ecological e-posters and learned how to digitally express their opinions for protecting the environment. Using powerful photos of the condition with garbage in their towns and photos of how they would like the environment to look like, they managed to come up with creative, attention-grabbing posters and to present them.

The wonderful and relaxing atmosphere was enriched with a discussion in English for advancing the argumentative speaking skills of the students. They hung out and collaborated with each other toward a mutual goal and their hard work resulted in more than 30 amazing electronic posters.

This activity is part of the English Access Microscholarship Program, supported by the United States Embassy in North Macedonia.
