Last week in Strumica, the traditional celebrations were held to mark the Strumica Carnival. At the main procession that took place on 17 February 2018, more than 40 masks have passed in several different categories.

The large audience also had a chance to see the young students of the primary school “Marsal Tito” from the village of Murtino, Strumica with their mask “Joyous Garden”. The theme of the carnival mask was inspired by the students’ desire to promote healthy lifestyle and diet.

With their unique mask, they successfully represented their school and won the first place in the category “group mask of 5-10 people”. During the procession, the students also sent powerful messages for interethnic integration.

The messages were inspired by the cooperation and friendship among students from different ethnic communities and emerged during their joint preparation of the mask. The students were also supported by their parents, which contributed to further stimulate their creativity and desire to face the challenges in an innovative way.
