Macedonia’s First Educational Policies Created in 10 Municipalities
On the promotion held on 21 February 2008, the Macedonian
Civic Education Center (MCEC) promoted the brochures and interactive CD with
educational policies created by the 10 municipalities in the Republic of
Macedonia. The educational policies are consisted of guidelines and
processes on defining the steps on development of the strategies for
improving the education on the municipality level. During the project
implementation the tangible conditions related to the education on
municipality level were defined, including the priorities that should be
focus of the further investments of the municipality. In the process for
development of the educational policies the representatives from the
municipality education sector, school staff and NGOs representatives took
active participation. In 37 primary schools, during the implementation of
the project “Improvement of Education in the Municipalities”, 322 different
items of teaching aids and school equipment were donated and 71 different
types of small school renovations were implemented. This project
is supported by the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) with funds
from United States Agenda for International Development (USAID) within the
Civil Society Strengthening Project.
