Family - school cooperation seminar

 

Seminar dates and location: October 21-23, 2005, Ohrid

 

Participants: PSP group (school staff/teachers and parents)

 

Program designed and provided by: Slobodanka Ristevska  (school – family cooperation expert)

 

Goal of the seminar:  To foster cooperation between school and family

 

Objectives of the seminar:

Parents to become acquainted with the structure of the primary education in Macedonia

bullet

Parents to obtain information about the specific forms and ways of parental involvement in the particular

areas of school work

bullet

Parents to acquire skills for initiating school improvements activities

bullet

Teachers to get to know and become able to practice relevant forms of cooperation with parents

bullet

Parents to gain self-confidence to involve themselves in the work of the school and teachers to support

parents’ initiatives

 

The seminar provided information, knowledge and skills for both teachers and parents how to communicate and cooperate over school issues. Also the seminar covered the topics referring the 4 areas of schoolwork where there are opportunities for parents to participate and they are the following:
